Doomsday Fire: Millions of Volcanoes Stirring Under the Ocean
In 1993, marine geophysicists aboard the research vessel Melville discovered 1,133 previously unmapped underwater volcanoes off the coast of Easter Island.
Though some of the newly discovered volcanoes rose as much as one-and-a-half miles above the seafloor, their summits still remained half a mile below the water’s surface- all this in a comparatively small area of only 55,000 square miles, about the size of New York State.
The geophysicists had increased the known supply of underwater volcanoes by more than ten percent just in a matter of months. That was 1993. Today, scientists estimate that there are more than three million underwater volcanoes.
That’s a three followed by six zeroes! In 2007, oceanographers Hillier and Watts surveyed 201,055 submarine volcanoes. “From this they concluded an astounding total of 3,477,403 submarine volcanoes must reasonably exist worldwide,” said this article by John O’Sullivan. Hillier and Watts “based this finding on the earlier and well-respected observations of Earth and Planetary Sciences specialist, Batiza (1982) who found that at least 4 per cent of seamounts are active volcanoes.”
According to Batiza’s survey, the Pacific mid-plate alone contains an incredible 22,000 to 55,000 underwater volcanoes, with at least 2,000 of them considered active. Thinking that anyone could know exactly how many volcanoes lurk beneath the surface of the ocean is ludicrous, of course.
But that 3,477,403 number, coming from two well-respected oceanographers, does reinforce my point rather nicely, namely, that underwater volcanoes are heating the seas. To go from 10,000 underwater volcanoes to more than three million in less than 20 years shows how little we knew – and how little we still know – about this incredible force of nature. We know more about the moon.

Friends of our channel, be welcome. This is the eighth “coming events” – May 28, 2011. Friends and YouTubers, this video brings up yet another cover-up of important information for us, ordinary citizens. Russian scientists appear to have a greater sense of global principles than Western scientists. Pay attention to the following information: NASA Hiding Approaching Doomsday Space Event — research by Terrence Aym NASA and the European Space Agency have been warning the world for two years about the approaching catastrophes that may unfold during late 2011 through 2012. Few have been listening. Calling it a “once in a lifetime super solar storm event,” NASA warns that killer solar flares can slam the Earth knocking out the Northern Hemisphere’s technological infrastructure and kicking everything back to the level of the late 1800s. Russia too has voiced concern. And now the eminent astrophysicist, Alexey Demetriev ["PLANET PHYSICAL STATE OF THE EARTH AND LIFE"], claims what is happening is worse—much worse—than what NASA and the ESA have admitted: Our entire solar system is entering an immense, deadly, interstellar energy cloud. This is the unknown, alien Photon Belt, World defenseless against unknown, alien cloud! Terrified scientists at NASA discovered on July 14, 2010, that our system is passing through an interstellar energy cloud. This highly energized, electrified cloud of gas, is disturbing and disrupting the sun. In conjunction with Earth’s weakening and moving …
SOLAR ACTIVITY UPDATE:New Developing AR-Sunspot (Aug 30th, 2011).
SO MUCH FOR DOOMSDAY: Comet Elenin (C/2010 X1), widely known for inaccurate reports of its threat to Earth, appears to be breaking apart. Observations by amateur astronomer Michael Mattiazzo of Castlemaine, Australia show a rapid dimming and elongation of the comet’s nucleus akin to that of Comet LINEAR (C/1999 S4), which also disintegrated when it approached the sun in 2000. Comets are fragile objects, so this development while unexpected comes as no surprise.

New Doomsday Prediction – Oct. 21, 2011 or Dec. 21, 2012? Camping vs. Maya & NASA
After the failed doomsday prediction, a new question arises in the hearts of doomsday anticipators – is the world going to end on October 21, 2011 or December 21, 2012?
Harold Camping, the head of Family Radio who predicted May 21, 2011 as judgment day once said that “it is absolutely going to happen, there is no way it is not gonna happen,” and “I cannot schedule an interview because I am not gonna be here” on this day, which peacefully passed last weekend. Monday, on his weekly broadcast, Camping pushed off his rapture prediction date to October 21, 2011, which marks his third rapture prediction. The May 21 rapture did not occur because “no one would be able to survive it for more than a few days, or let alone five months to suffer God’s wrath,” Camping said. That is why the world will end all at once on October 21, 2011, according to Camping.
Wait a minute! There is another doomsday candidate you may want to consider.
While Camping asserts the coming of the end of the world on October 21, many claim the new doomsday predictions are starting to shift to the Mayan calendar, and the date of December 21, 2012. December 21 is said to be the end date of the largest grand cycle in the Mayan Long Count Calendar. Read more on December 21 doomsday prediction here.
Why would people take interest in such an ancient calendar? The Mayan civilization was among the largest in the world, and the most developed and advanced in mathematics and astronomy of their day. The Mayan Calendar is a prophetic calendar that some claim would help us foresee the future providing an exact schedule for the Cosmic Plan.
The so-called “2012 Phenomenon” is not only derived from the Mayan calendar, but also includes scientific factors such as galactic alignment, the gravitational effect on natural disasters, and a geomagnetic reversal.
NASA predicted that the number of sunspots and sun flares would increase in 2012, causing satellite disruptions and power outages.
A massive solar flare would release energy equal to 100 billion atomic bombs, a situation worsened by the weakening magnetic field of the earth.
Solar flare would probably reverse the north and south magnetic poles, causing a series of catastrophic chain reactions. The weakening of the magnetic fields of the earth may expose the inhabitants to cosmic and solar radiation that would affect nuclear reactors. According to Fox News, researchers based the possibility of Earth’s worst-case scenario solar storm on a major solar storm in 1859, which caused telegraph wires to short out in Western countries, igniting widespread fires. 1859′s solar storm was the worst in the past 200 years, marking the advent of modern power grids and satellites.
Both religious and non-religious, scientific and non-scientific sources, and numerous eschatological beliefs support that apocalyptic events will occur on December 21, 2012.
The public interest in the end of the world is undeniably high, especially when it involves scientific predictions rather than rapture predictions. Since 2007, NASA’s public outreach website “Ask and Astrobiologist” received over 5,000 questions on the subject.
As questions and interviews flood in on Harold Camping and Family Radio, a close look at the Mayan Calendar and NASA’s research may help you stay tuned to the real Doomsday.
