Bill Maher’s New Rule – Americans Aren’t “Smarter Than That”

Bill Maher breaks out his new rules on Friday’s Real Time and his final rule deals with politicians who say that Americans are smart enough to see through spin and lies. Maher speaks the truth – it’s amazing that during the information age, it’s still so difficult to get factual information to the public. The facts are that Barack Obama isn’t a Muslim, Saddam Hussein wasn’t involved in the 9/11 attacks and global warming is real — yet somehow, to some, they still remain theories. Maher:”New rule, politicians must stop saying “the American people are smarter than that.” No they aren’t! If the Bush era has taught us anything, it’s that voters want a president carved in their own image. Someone who doesn’t like to read or believe anything he’s told and is easily distracted by bright, shiny objects.”

But I think Maher made his point – if you educate yourself about some matter, you can have valid opinions.

Umm Bill, the Surge did work, its been a year and a half, the success of the surge is now confirmed by its fiercest critics.
Maher is funny on some topics, but he should stay away from some things that he doesn’t understand, like counter insurgency strategy.

That doesn’t mean I supported Obama. The GOP could have won by trying to appeal to people through intellect and good ideas instead of playing the crudest sort of identity politics. That’s a joke right? I know more democrats down here in lower Alabama than Republicans… they smoke weed, drink LOTS of alcohol on a daily basis, and spit more than you and I in our lifetimes, they don’t shop at malls, well, because there AREN’T any. And yes, Republican, WASPs DO shop at malls, they also drive HUGE SUV’s, but the aregument shouldn’t be about what news channel is lieing to them, or bullshitting them, because they’re all still sheep. I also believe now that Obama is the new poster child for the NWO, he’s the first President to start the change over to the One World Govt. Which is as bad as it is a good idea. I had a teacher in Highschool 20 years ago, who told us that there were people trying to bring about a one world govt. Never thought it would happen right before my eyes. Sorry others can’t see it.
